Greasemonkey is a Firefox extension for altering the web pages you visit. Allows you to customize the way a webpage displays using small bits of JavaScript.
Greasemonkey performs these alterations using specially written java script files called user scripts. As a user, you need not worry about writing user scripts. There are plenty of places on internet where you can find millions of user scripts which alters the website you want, in a way you like!
Hundreds of scripts, for a wide variety of popular sites, are already available at http://userscripts.org. You can write your own scripts, too. Check out http://wiki.greasespot.net/ to get started.
You can use it to make a website more readable or more usable. You can fix bugs that the site owner can’t be bothered to fix themselves. You can alter pages so they work better with assistive technologies that speak to a web page aloud or convert it to Braille.
